Com.IPM is a cloud-based software platform for comprehensive inspection process management in accordance with VDA Volume 5. It helps companies in the automotive industry and related sectors to plan, validate and continuously monitor measurement and inspection processes in compliance with standards.

Measurement uncertainty and guard bands

Valid measurement results form the basis of any conformity assessment. Com.IPM calculates the expanded measurement uncertainty according to ISO 22514-7 and VDA 5 and presents it clearly in the measurement uncertainty budget. The guard bands specified in ISO 14253 are always considered, enabling confident decisions to be made at the specification limits.

Risk-based inspection planning approach

Not every inspection process requires the same level of effort. Com.IPM uses catalogue-based criteria to assess the probability of occurrence and the consequences of an incorrect decision and assigns the process to a risk class (high, medium, low). The software applies this information to transparently determine whether and to what extent a proof of capability is required.

Intelligent selection of measuring equipment

By connecting to an internal, customer-specific or public inspection equipment database, Com.IPM automatically suggests suitable measuring instruments for the task at hand. The selection is based on measurement uncertainty, resolution and measuring range. With every study carried out, the stored knowledge grows, thereby improving and simplifying future selections.

Reports at the touch of a button

All recorded data, analysis results and proofs of capability can be presented in structured, customisable reports. These reports are suitable for audits, are comprehensive and can be accessed at any time.

Com.IPM covers the entire process, from inspection planning and capability analysis to stability monitoring, thereby laying the foundation for reliable quality decisions in series production.
